In this blog, I will focus on my game’s pitch.
Elevator Pitch
One of the things I was suggested to do was to come up with an elevator pitch, a short sentence that describes your game. I used the template from the lectures slides, and this is what I came up with:
Hello. I am Sam and my game is called Metal Madness, a Tower Defense game about creating deadly theme park rides to destroy invading robots.
Market Research
I’ve done some market research for this project, in particular looking at tower defense games on the market, which you can find here.
Pitch Deck
For this week, I was asked to come up with a pitch deck, which you can view below, although some aspects of this have changed since I made the Pitch Deck:

Game Loop

Audience
Doing some market research helped me with refining what my audience is for this game. I am looking to target the premium mobile tower-defense segment of the market. I chose mobile games specifically as they are a large space for the tower defense genre, and the drag-and-drop aspects of these games, and in my game, appeal particularly to this platform category. In terms of players, I am targeting a casual audience, which also goes well with the mobile platform, someone who likes to play games on their phone while taking public transport, or playing for a few minutes to relieve boredom.
