Rose’s Room:

Rose’s room, since it is the room of the killer, is very important to the game.

The paintings of Oedipus are also important to the plot of the game, and Youth asked me to include some of these paintings to intertwine with the narrative. These paintings foreshadow the motive of the killer, Rose being the jealous daughter of the victim, Laura.

I decided to move the bed further out of frame to make the room feel less cramped.

I was not happy with the final version of the basement as I don’t think the lighting makes complete sense and the trees in the background don’t look right. I think I will probably come back to this later, perhaps after taking some of my own pictures of trees that suit the scary atmosphere of this game.

To create a further sense of continuity, and to save time, I used the same image of a door that I had already made for the basement to use in the corridor.

I was debating whether to have the chandelier be on or off, since the hotel is meant to be abandoned, but ultimately decided that the room look more atmospheric and the lighting more interesting with the chandelier on, although I might change this later.
