This is the Vertical Slice for The Second Version of Those Left Behind
This version of the game focuses on more interactivity between the player and the game world they’re in – having to build up their survival camp from scratch and immerse themselves in conversations with non-playable characters.
The player must complete a linear series of tasks given to them by in-game characters, prompting them to collect and use their resources to advance.Advancing means unlocking new resources and camps, as well as dialogue with new characters. Completing the camp and all of the games narrative scenes will complete the game.
This new structure still aims to encapsulate important gameplay elements and key narrative themes.
The slice includes:
- Base Management & Resource Gathering – Players construct new camps dedicated to specific resource, producing food, scraps, and other essentials over time.
- Environmental Storytelling – Players get a glimpse into the remnants of a collapsed world through dialogue scenes and the survival camp itself.
- Task Completion and Progression – Use resource gathering as a way to complete tasks and further progress in the game.
