Scene: 0_Start Page

Creating the game’s start menu wasn’t particularly difficult, as it mainly involved adding buttons and arranging the UI layout.

Scene 1 wasn’t challenging either. In Playtest 2, I originally used several lines of text to give players some background information. However, the feedback I received was that players weren’t sure whether they were playing as Alex or just one of his colleagues. So I decided to revise this part of the intro. I started the scene with Alex calling Jade, using their conversation to establish the player’s identity, the current time and location, and the reason for coming here. At the end, I also included a hint that they would investigate the motel the next day. This scene serves as a bridge between the background and the gameplay, so I named it Before Play. Additionally, Hayley had drawn a portrait of Jade that didn’t appear in the main game, which I thought was a pity, so I included it during this phone call.

Green command has no special meaning, it is green because my mouse is hanging on it.
