I didn’t have much hesitation about the title, but I thought about calling the game ‘There is no hero in the world’ when I first thought of it, with ‘’hero‘’ being a pun which means both protagonist and hero (like a superhero) at the same time. But I soon rejected it because I didn’t really know why I wanted to call it that, and it seems to have nothing to do with my original game idea, it just popped into my head.
As the game developed, the title of the game was decided when I decided to create a student protagonist, which was this heroine’s identity number, #19-09-26.
The first reason is that my friend said when I interviewed her that in her high school, her school number had more significance than her name, and the second reason is that a string of numbers can mean a lot of things, like 19-09-26 it can be the heroine’s identification number, or it can represent a date, the 26th of September 2019, which is also the time when the game starts.
Reference:
It’s not uncommon to use mere numbers as titles, and I found as many of these titles as I can remember, some for books and some for films, and most of the numerical titles represent time and place. For example, 2012 (2009 film) and 1984 by George Orwell represent the time, while 1408 by Stephen King and 2046 (2004 film) represent the place. So the title of my game represents the time and also the identity of the heroine.
