- Thursday (30/1/25) – Project selection, team pitching, initial planning
Description
Thursday’s session: Quick refresher of the available projects. Students vote on which projects they want to work on, they pitch themselves for specific roles. They divide themselves into groups of 3-4. They read through the GDD together and decide on what part of the game they would like to make as their vertical slice.
Outcomes
- Students will be assigned to a role within a project
- Groups will have read and discussed the GDD of their chosen project
- Groups will have decided what their vertical slice will consist of
- Students will be mindful about documenting their work to add to their professional portfolios upon graduation
Resources
Students should be mindful about how their contribution to this project will contribute to their portfolio. Below are examples of portfolios from professionals in the games industry. Look at how they document their work and think how you can apply this to your own work this module.
Monday lecture :

I got into Lament with the role of Character artisit which I’m happy about!
During the thursday’s lecture only 2 of my teamates were in (Xane and E-jay). This is where we discussed what the vertical slice should be and set tasks for ourselves for next week.

We agreed to do the depression realm section of the game since we were all interested by the final boss in that realm.

Here, we delegated tasks to one another but then altered the tasks after and focused on what to do next.
