Whisper – Pixel art

Since I was new to pixel art, I started out with a variety of apps.

1st iteration

Canvas size : 16×16

This was my first pixel drawing of the whisper, and I tried to keep the key components like the eye, aura, and color palette. Working with a small canvas size made it a little tough, but I still felt happy with the outcome. This was me testing out pixel art since we didn’t establish the ratio for the enemies so I went with 16 x 16 size. This later did become a issue when we realized in the next team meeting it was too small, so I decided to do another iteration.

2nd iteration

Canvis size : 16×32

This is my full drawing of the whisper, after my team and I agreed on a specific size for everything. Since, I had a wider canvas, I felt more comfortable applying shading and emphasizing the eye whilst using the same overall palette and giving it that oval shape with the dripping look. Overall, I’m pleased with the end result.

Other possibilities : These were other coloring palette designs that I decided not to pick because the left design looked more poisonous and the right design looked too different from the other enemies.

Peer feedback :

After the feed back, I decided to go with the original 2nd iteration with the same coloring because I thought that looked the best and was similar to Annas original whisper.
