There is a large list of game UI components—life bars, coin counters, level maps, etc. Just like UI design for mobile apps, video game UI design requires close attention to detail and functionality.

Comparing this to my game, I want my UI to be brightly coloured and soft so that players are intrigued and interested. Similar to the Doki Doki literature style..

However, I’d like it to transition completely when the player approaches dangerous and ominous dates, causing my UI to become darker and take on a more gloomy appearance..


Following this lesson, I chose to make simple mocks of how I believe my UI would appear in-game for the player’s actions. I made by researching many dating sim games and how they arranged their UI layouts,
