Yami – Too egotistical
Yami is a character I invented who is overly egotistical and enjoys bragging about their successes. I developed this character since I’ve met many egotistical people, both in games and at work.
During the date, Yami will stop Violet in mid-sentence, dismissing what she likes and dominating the conversation, steering it back to himself.
Ralph – Possessive , wont accept a no personality :
I decided to create this character because there have many instances where guys have mocked me for being able to say a complete ‘no’ or being unable to respond back. While, I do try to to say no I always do it in a way that involves some sort of excuse. I can’t help but feel still somewhat scared knowing cases of murder occur because of a simple response of a ‘no’. Especially in cases where people confess, its sometimes difficult to just blankely say no so I tend to come up with an excuse with it. For example, the ‘Furuta Junko’ case in Japan, where four boys kidnapped a highschool girl because one of the guys who confessed ended up being rejected by her. She was later kidnapped for 44 days and endured inhumane torture all because she said no.
Another explanation is that some men are simply unable to take rejection. Even if you respectfully deny their flirtation, they will try to pressure you to do anything with statements like “Come on, it’s not that deep” or “You can’t have friends?” and if that doesn’t work sometimes they just outright insult you back with phrases like “You weren’t even cute anyways” or “I was trying to help you”. And, While I won’t make Ralphs action become very extreme, I do intend to make him aggressive and posssesive of Violet.
Arden Earl – Stalker personality :
Kropp, Hart, & Lyon, 2008 states, “Stalking, also known as obsessional following or criminal harassment, may be defined as “unwanted and repeated communication, contact, or other conduct that deliberately or recklessly causes people to experience reasonable fear or concern for their safety or the safety of others known to them”
Arden’s demeanour is uncommon in many dates, but in otome games, he is generally known more as a ‘yandere’. This type of character is overly obsessed with the main character and will go to any length to achieve their goal, moral or not. Zona and her colleague suggested that stalkers feel into three groups “erotomanic, love obsessional, and simple obsessional”. I intend to hide Arden’s obsession in the beginning of the date, only revealing his true love obsession throughout the date as he begins talking about Violet’s previous dates, guessing her work schedule, knowing where she lives and where she frequently goes after work. Even starting to show a hint of jealousy and anger as to why she made those decisions.
