Anna sent this message on Saturday the 3rd to organise the showcase prep, Joe would make a build of the game, Gabi would make pin badges and I would make stickers.

Poster planning:
In class, Anna and I worked on designing a poster for our showcase. I had a vivid idea of the striking red tower cutting through an amber sunset, as seen below:

However when we played around in illustrator, we found this design was hard to actualise. We wanted silhouettes of the characters, but the bottom of the poster was already dark, so it didn’t make sense visually.
Anna said she would continue to work on it as she had more experience using illustrator, and eventually created this final design inspired by Halo posters.

Bracelet making:
Anna had tons of beads left over from her Taylor Swift bracelet operation, so we used them to make Those Left Behind themed bracelets! This was by far the most fun part of the merch prep, and the least stress inducing – except when a bracelet decided to spontaneously explode.

I definitely put way too much thought into the design of each bracelet, but it was all worth it for some unique, one of a kind game souvenirs. And hopefully the people at the showcase like them enough to play the game.

Sticker making:
I had the idea to make stickers of the resource and character icons, as we had done the same in my very first group project with major success. I was sure some cool stickers would be an excellent way to lure in more players, and help them remember the experience.

This was a slightly tedious task, as the printer kept misbehaving, the ink messing up and then paper getting stuck. But luckily we managed to salvage enough stickers for the event.
Pin badges:
Gabi was able to utilise her epic pin badge maker and created a variety of designs for the event. When the merch ready, we anxiously waited for the end of the event, when we would be free to take the leftovers for ourselves.

Game build:
Joes comments about the game build:

His last update was on Tuesday, and we all felt confident we would have a build for the showcase.
