Final showcase

See our preparation for the showcase below:

We had our final showcase on Thursday of week eleven from 11 – 2pm. Unfortunately on the morning of the showcase we received a message from Joe saying there was no build of the game.

The showcase did not go very well for our game, as we had to use our second playtest version, despite having added so much more to the game since that state. This version took a long time to get to work on the computer, and eventually wasn’t played. It was quite a sad moment as we had all put in so much work, including the merch, for nobody to play the game. But in the end we were able to hand out all our merch for free, so at least we had something to show.

I took the time to have a look at everyone’s game and felt so proud of what everyone was able to achieve! The amount of polish on all the games was extraordinary, you could really see how much work each team had put into their games. In the end, despite us not having a game, the event went well for the class as we got to spend time together and be proud of what we collectively produced.

After the showcase we realised there were several problems with the game that needed urgent attention, so we had a meeting to discuss this with Sophie the following Monday – see below:
