Tech Camp

Tech camp design:

‘Due to the Tech camps focus on electronics and machinery, the camp would contain many sources of energy, like solar panels and generators. There would be lots of scrap materials to tinker with, and plenty of tools and blueprints scattered about.’

Process:

My first sketch included a shelter with solar panels on the roof, a satellite, worktables and piles of scrap to be used in tinkering.

I refined the designs and added more details. For the scrap piles, I drew parts that could be useful to an engineer working on rebuilding a spaceship, for example, propellers and engines. I relocated the solar panels to the top of the roof instead of the side, as that is where the sun would hit the building. I drew a generator and several wires falling down and inside the structure, for a techy look.

Finished Design:

I forgot to take more photos of my process, but I added more colours, highlights and details. Small details include blueprints, toolboxes, wire spools, tools, storage boxes, lamps and tinkered parts.

I love the shading on the satellite and the bright blue of the solar panels, I think they really help to define the camps purpose. Again, I am pleased with this design and didn’t face any problems while drawing it.
