This is my first personal development reflection, which I am writing on week four of the project, so I will reflect on what I have done so far.
Soft skills: I have met several times with my team, gotten to know everyone and learn their preferences, strengths and weaknesses, including potential risks facing everyone’s workload. We assign tasks for each other and ourselves depending on urgency and requirements. We all make sure to finish our weekly tasks on time and work together to make sure everyone has what they need to continue work.
Soft skills are documented here:
Technical skills: I have used Ibis paint to create several resource icons for the game, and have been working on concept art for the camp environment. This has been going well however I may move to Procreate as it is more professionally acknowledged and has overall better features, so it would be good for me to learn how to use it.
Technical skills are documented here:
Academic skills: I have conducted research into games and articles online to better inform my world design. I want the world to feel realistic and in line with science and facts, but also be visually engaging and easy for the player to understand. Therefore I have researched into Florida’s environment and the affect of climate change on the area, as well as how to engage players with different building designs to help visually identify them with their purpose.

New goals:
In the next few weeks I want to aim to achieve my knowledge and understanding learning outcomes. I have already completed the first learning outcome, so I will focus on the other two. They are: experimental methods to advance your discipline-specific ideas, and knowledge gained from a range of sources and contexts to advance your team project. I will also continue to provide input to team meeting and finish my assignments to prepare the game for play-testing.
I have completed the first learning outcome in this post:
Experimental methods to advance your discipline-specific ideas: This would include being creative in my problem solving, experimenting with a variety of mediums and testing my ideas with peers, gathering feedback.
Knowledge gained from a range of sources and contexts to advance your team project: This would require me to continue researching my design choices, making sure its clear that my research and development has guided my final designs.
