Collaboration
On Monday Vanissa taught us about soft skills for game designers: providing feedback, mediating discussions & resolving conflicts. We were also told to consider our work style, preferences, strengths, struggles and to be aware that what suits one teammate may not suit the rest. We learnt how to work around these issues and find solutions that best suit everyone without conflicts arising. She made us aware of the importance of letting every voice be heard and acknowledging every teammates efforts.

As a team we shared our progress with each other, some of us had finished our tasks ahead of schedule which was great news, as we could then move on to our next tasks early. Joe had been working on the prototype in unity and he shares his progress with us. We were really happy with the progress, with some bugs popping up which he believed could be easily fixed.
Vanissa instructed us to add a backlog of individual tasks to our road-map, which would be our goals for the week. Once we completed them we could tick them off and move them to a completed task section which was very satisfying to see.

Teamwork
Sophie reasserted the importance of teamwork and made sure everyone had their equal share of tasks and responsibilities. We continued to work on our personal tasks. Gabi had finished a very cool asset and had started her second character design. Joe had faced some more prototype bugs and was aware of the support available but preferred to work through it on his own, and he was later successful. Anna documented the deliberate design choices for the vertical slice in terms of mechanics and game-play. I was continuing to produce resource icon assets. Yiran informed us the first dialogue scene would be ready during the weekend for Anna to review, as she had requested her to in the first couple of weeks to make sure it had a good flow and made sense.
End of week 3 😀
