Game World
The player gets thrown into an eerie and ominous world of mystery and crime. As a police detective, the player arrives at a remote mansion, which allegedly used to be a criminal’s hideout. The omnipresent mess and stench of an old place intensifies the creepy atmosphere of the building. Amongst that mess the player has to find certain clues – the ones that will allow them to put the story together and discover what had happened there. The primary place of investigation is the mansion, however, it would be recommended to take a look outside – in the thick, misty forest – as the possibility of finding something there cannot be ruled out. At the end of each day the player will go back to the office to file in a report from the investigation.
The game world is kept in a realistic style and a dark, gloomy atmosphere. The colours that can be found there are very bleak and they intensify the chilling ambience.
Lore
Player’s backstory
The player is a 33 year-old Detective Inspector in the British police who has recently got married to their wife, Jade. One day, the woman goes through the old stuff with her mom Alice and discovers a diary which belonged to Jade’s great-grandmother. It is known in the family that she disappeared and the diary reawakens Jade’s curiosity to discover truth behind the disappearance. At the time, concerned great-grandmother Laura’s sister reported the incident to the police and the motel was investigated. However, the owner claimed that the couple never arrived there and the police were unable to solve the case. Jade asks her partner (so the player) for help and both of you set out to find the last place mentioned by Laura in the diary. Who knows what is it that you will find there?

This has been the most beautiful day of my life. Henry and I finally got married. I can’t describe all the emotions I’m feeling right now. It’s a promise between the two of us – that we are going to be together forever. Together with Rose we finally are a family. Not that we weren’t one before, but now it’s official and no one can take that away from us.

It’s all a bit rushed and spontaneous, especially since the country is still recovering from the aftermaths of the war, but it has always been Henry and I’s dream to go on a journey, just the two of us. Rose’s birth was not exactly planned so we haven’t had time to realise our dream but honeymoon could be a perfect excuse for us to finally do so.

We’ve discussed with Henry the main points of our honeymoon and which places we would like to visit. We’d prefer an adventure kind of trip rather than resting in one spot; we’ve never really been ones to settle down. One of my biggest dreams which I hope can come true soon is spending a night with him at the beach, under a sky full of stars. I’ve seen an advert in the newspaper of that one motel, I think it was [Motel Name]? I’m not sure about its quality, since the price was quite cheap, but it seems to be in a perfect location near the sea, and it’s not like we are going to stay there for longer than two nights. We have a rule though of not booking anything for the trip – we’re just going to go and see how everything turns out.

We’re leaving tomorrow, everything’s already prepared. We have multiple bags filled with clothes and a tent, in case we can’t find a place to stay the night in. Rose isn’t coming with us, my sister will take care of her for the next month. We’re never leaving her alone after this trip again. We are going to be the happiest family in the world. This is my promise to her.
