Melodies of a Misty Seashore is a detective horror game which aims to give players an opportunity to explore human psychology through seeing the events happen from the perspective of the killer.
The game takes the player on a journey around a serial killer’s mind – how they think, how they perceive things and what causes them to commit such horrid crimes. Taking on the role of a detective, the player has to investigate clues scattered all around the big mansion in order to reconstruct events that had happened there a long time ago. Every correctly recreated event takes the player back in time, allowing them to play as the killer in his past. Designed in realistic art style, in bleak colours combined with greyscale, the game becomes even more immersive and allows the player to feel its eerie and gloomy atmosphere. Appropriate chilling music and sound effects also contribute in major part to the overall experience of the game. An added co-op option allows the player to set out on this journey with friends or make new ones along the way.
Game Pillars
One of the most important aspects while creating (and trying to sell) a video game is present its pillars – essential and unique elements of the game. For our high concept pitch decks we were asked to highlight three of those pillars.

“Melodies of a Misty Seashore” stands on three major pillars: perspective switch, which is the unique selling point of the game, it is kept in eerie and grim aesthetic, and the rich environmental narrative keeps the player in constant tension and unease.
