First version

Based on the art style I wanted to make my game in (see Art Style Inspiration) the colour palette by default becomes greyscale. I feel like environment devoid of any colour would perfectly portray the atmosphere I’m aiming to create in my game world – a bit eerie, ominous but also melancholic and quiet.
Second version

After making some initial black and white sketches, I’ve decided that a colour palette of dark blue shades would be more fitting for melancholic, grim retrospections. It’s still devoid of any bright colours – I was trying to create a bluish greyscale. That way it would be more unique and fit into the art style I have researched.
The change in the colour palette was also a result of fascination with the art style used in the mugshot reproduction Myra by Marcus Harvey from 1995. When painting game concepts I tried to combine realism with the colour dots visible in the painting (see Art Style Inspiration).
