In week 3 we talked about teamwork and got to know each other’s working preferences a bit more. We learned about the importance of soft skills, such as communication, critical thinking, problem-solving or adaptability.
One of the exercises we did in class and which I found very useful was writing our strengths, struggles and preferences down in our teams. It helped me get to know my teammates better – see what they’re best at and how those skills could be used in our project, as well as learning in which areas they still don’t feel too comfortable. It was also a good method of identifying my own strengths and weaknesses – just so I know in what other areas specifically I could improve. Putting our work and communication preferences down allowed us to find an optimal way of doing tasks and sharing our progress which made the project develop steadily.

I marked my responses in the picture. Although programming isn’t my strong suite I viewed it more as a learning opportunity to broden my industry skills. As for my struggles, time management and procrastination are still something I need to work on. Although I can focus better alone, I also wouldn’t mind working in studio together with other team members. Lastly, it’s most important to communicate and both online and in-person types of communicating have their advantages so I was fine with either.
