Important Discussions
After our game playtest some of the big things we have had to work on have been improving the quality of the game. We have the bones and now we’re adding the meat, so to speak. The large critisicms we’ve received have been in the Narrative, level design and sprite animations/hitboxes. So these have become some of our heavy focuses moving forward. Similarly, as we approach another playtest, we have to consider the gameplay loop at its core and what we want to test and how we will achieve these goals.
A large discussion is around the Boss Mobs. These are creatures that are core to the gameplay loop of Lament, however, other things have taken our priority and now we have seriously spoken about whether a boss is possible in the time limit of the game. We don’t think we will be able to have it completed before the next playtest, however, we believe that we can have it completed before the deadline and that we may host a smaller, private playtest to test our complete game before the deadline.
