- Monster animations -> ✅
- Dash implementation -> ❌
- Level Layouts -> ❌
Certain things haven’t been completed this week due to illness and the complexity of the task at hand. For example: the room generation code has turned out to be much more complicated than originally expected and as such E-jay will be taking a step back to look at it from a new perspective as all of his curret fixes seem to just be creating more issues with the code.
A similar thing has happened with Ayse and the Dash mechanic, however, Josh has been absent for the first 2 weeks of term due to illness and has only just joined the project and as such is a week behind on work and should be catching back up with his tasks.
The level layouts are also something that don’t really need to be rushed as the they are not neccassary for the room generation or for the level sprite work.
Important Discussions
We had two group meetings this week, one about how many obstacles we will be making and the limitations of the timeframe and what can be made in the code. And another about the general aesthetic of the game itself.
We’ve limited ourselves to three obstacles in the room generation; Pitfalls, spikes and sawblades. Each of these should offer a unique way for the player to navigate the level whilst also being within E-jays coding limitations.
In terms of aesthetic, we are going more for the ‘Binding of Issac’ perspective rather than ‘Enter The Gungeon’ look. This is so we can show of the door and sprite design a lot more easily, similarly, this also makes E-jays level generation easier to code as the perspective is a lot easier to work with.

Aims to Complete in Week 3:
- Ejay -> Fixing room generation(cont)
- Riya -> protagonist art, enemies animation (attacking and getting hurt)
- Josh -> level layouts(cont)
- Ayse -> Fixing Dash mechanic (cont), starting on menu UI
- Xane -> Tile sets and sad tree animation & design redrafts
