On Monday: What is quality assurance in the context of making games?
-functional testing -localisation testing -SDET -Dev QA -specialist field testing -compliance testing
Difference between design issues and bugs:
Design issue is the game playable to someone who has never played the before, example of issues may include: -Unclear Objectives -Narrative Issue -Confusing Visuals -Inconsistencies
Bugs: A defect in the software. Code does not function as it should
Example of issues may include: -Crashes
The limitations of testing your own work – you know what you’ve made -Giving yourself honest feedback is hard -scale of resources -Training yourself to think differently-Designer/Player
On Thursday: we had a group presentation on the current progress of our game and the difficulties encountered in making it. As well as exactly what each person has done so far and what they are planning to do next. I’ve attached some pictures to use as I can easily explain what I’m talking about.
