Week 6

Week 6: Reflections

This week on Thursday we started by explaining about next week’s formative feedback was explained, saying what we need to prepare. And questions to think about: what I contribute to the team and how I communicate with the team. And mentioned about what will happen in week8, we will have a group presentation.

Then it was on to this week’s theme, ‘creative problem solving’. An appreciation of some quirky artwork and paintings that I think lean towards surrealism and grotesque aesthetics.


I started programming about the second quest-cake, and after our previous discussion, we wanted to make all the quests freely selectable by the player himself, such as having the option to choose between helping the family or destroying the quest. In this cake quest, the player can choose to help the family decorate the cake or make the cake fall on the ground, and there is no need for the player to make a choice from the beginning, the player can change his mind at any time. But since the props for this quest: the cake and the decorations are not finished modelling yet, I’ve only added the dialogue for now in this article.

After that I thought it would be nice to have a little more detail when the player first enters a room, and I added the title of the room in when the player first enters the new scene. When the player comes out of the rat hole, there will be fading words at the top of the screen showing living room or kitchen.
