Initial Idea
Mood boards
At the very beginning of the term, we started to conceive the content of our game plot. It took a long time to conceive of the theme at first, from deciding that it was about the universe and future related themes, to deciding on the gameplay and content, and finally to conceiving the whole game.
For the first week or two, I created a simple mind map of what I was thinking the game would contain at the beginning:

As you can see from the mind map in the picture the initial idea was to use New Planet as the name of my game, and then changed the final name of my game to Neo-Human considering that my game has always been centred around humans and Neo-Human.

This is a clearer mind map I made from these basic drafts, which labels which areas I’m about to follow.
Other accumulation
Normally in the classroom, we also have other tasks that allow us to grow our game understanding and creativity. For example, randomising random events to make a coherent story; or adapting a game based on a random story. All of these helped me with my game design afterwards.
