Prototype 4

Overview:

After some crucial feedback from my group it was noted that there was still some significant work that needed to be done in improving the UI design, as such that was my main focus in this prototype as we had our first official playtest the same week. In addition, it was also discussed that I needed to further expand on the fail state mechanic to work when the resources are not met by day 7. Lastly, I noticed some bugs from my previous prototypes so I had to get them sorted out and fixed before my playtest to ensure a smooth gameplay experience.

During our weekly meeting we discussed and brainstormed what we wanted to change about the UI, after some discussions i ended up sketching a potential change to the UI with the environmental artists background drawing in:

Conclusion:

  • After I presented the new game prototype my group was happy with the state of it and we were now ready to use this for our first game prototype. We felt it was both engaging and, most importantly, testable so, we should be able to collect some clear and useful feedback to develop our game further.
