♡Week 2- Project management♡

03/02/2025- Monday

In today’s lecture we had a guest lecturer, called Paul MacGillivray, who talked to us about project management.

Lecture Task

In our teams we broke down food dishes into deliverables and tasks. The deliverables being the outcome (In this case Katsu Curry) and the tasks being how to get to the deliverable.

Once all teams had finished, Paul then asked us to break it down into times using estimates and then breaking the times down further by simplifying steps that are more time consuming.

Take aways- This lecture was really helpful to see how we’d break down our own deliverables into tasks, and how to gives ourselves less time if needed.

In this lecture Sophie discussed the importance of project management, covering subjects such as crisis project management and user tracking/stories.

User Stories:

User stories help developers emphasise with the users and how it will benefit you as a business.

Example- “As a player, I want to solve the murder so that I can feel a sense of accomplishment”.

User retention tracking:

♡Every single storefront tracks user retention

♡It is your job to entertain

♡It is your job to entertain and understand user pressure points and frustrations

♡This gives a basis for you to communicate priorities to your team mates

♡It’s a way to make sure that you can play with your player

Crisis Project management:

Possible risks:

♡Physical/mental health?

♡Breakup?

♡Moving house?

♡Dependants?

♡What will happen in each situation?

♡How much time will it take?

FFIO= Giving up

FITNE= Knowing you’re near your limits
