Here below is a mixture of desk based research I started doing to help better my knowledge of how autism in females is different to autism in males.

Here I’ve included a range of images from reliable sources online such as NAS & NHS that cover the topics of autism in general and then more specifically autism within females. I found some interesting facts out about how females typically learn how to ‘mask’ so that they are able to fit in with neurotypical females. The term ‘masking’ after researching definitely has influenced one of my initial game ideas as I think it could be a unique game mechanic within my own game.

These two images are from the E-book Autism Spectrum Disorder : Understanding the Female Phenotype. in which I found some interesting facts about females with autism and why it’s so easy for them to go under the radar when being diagnosed with autism.
