⋆Week 9 – Mandatory Playtesting Pt.2⋆

24/03/2025

On our Monday lesson we were able to talk to Vanissa to get some 1-1 feedback, this is where I was able to show Vanissa the changes I had made over the last couple of weeks reflecting on my feedback that I received in week 7 which can be found here: https://year2.wsagames.com/is3g23/⋆formative-feedback⋆/

The rest of this week will be spent of getting ready for our playtest on Thursday as well as some personal development into my future, as last week I was able to talk to Sophie about my future plans in potentially narrative design, so I had a couple of those tasks that I wanted to make a start on as well.

Playtest Day!

On our Thursday session we had our 2nd playtest where we were able to display our 2nd version to peers with the feedback that we acted on from last time, I again created another feedback form so that we could gather the results of the playtest.

Feedback

From the google form here were some of the key takes/general feedback that directly applied to me as the environmental artist as well as the narrative writer:

Some of the feedback left within these sections weren’t necessarily directed towards me, but was still helpful none the less to help communicate with the team who was working on those sections.

Overall the feedback we received was positive and all the feedback we received was very helpful and so our next steps will be to write down everything and begin to prioritise what needs to be completed and acted upon before our final playtest event.

Full version of the feedback can be found here: https://year2.wsagames.com/violetsdates/playtesting-sessions/
