In week 10, we came back from the break to re-review the game together. There were certain things that seemed like a good idea at the time, that now needed to be redone. For example, the textures. They seemed too harsh, and the shader package often created strange, jagged shadows. I wasn’t unopposed to just keeping the shader, since we were thin on time now, but Parker managed to convince me when they showed the new effect. So we decided to bake texture maps for a softer, more airbrushed look instead.
This was no small task, so all of Parker, Hugo, and I had to work on it, as there were only so many weeks left, and I had created a lot of assets.
Towards the end of the week, I also created some more UI elements. I created a “to investigate” list to guide the player, and a main menu, and implemented this into the game so that players could naviagte them by clicking around.
