Overall Goals
The sound and music is going to have a big impact on the atmosphere of the game, the intended feel is a normal and calm music for the adventure part of this game. The normal calm will make it easy to create sudden scenarios like a jump scare or a theme change by simply changing the music to a less calm and more dramatic tune.
Sound Effets & Music
The sound effects will follow the theme of its surroundings, this being a bundle of futuristic, sc-fi sounds in things such as doors and control panels. There will be various changes in these sound effects to avoid repetition and to also add to the atmosphere and gameplay. This will be seen in situations such as explosions which will muffle the surrounding sounds and even no sound at all in space, which creates an uneasy atmosphere.
Music in ‘Finding Astraios’ will have a big factor in making the exploration and free roam of the station more enjoyable. The music for this will be a calm piano, similar to ‘Miltons tower’ soundtrack in ‘What Remains of Edith Finch’. In contrast to the normal piano theme more dramatic scenes will have a different tone this will be done by a changing the piano to stringed instruments, like a violin. The instrument like the violin or the cello will create an orchestra like sound.
