At first I tried to see if I could use Mixamo to animate the humans, Mixamo is a website that allows you to upload your human models and it rigs and animated it for you.

However Mixamo wasn’t working, the rig wasnt optimised enough and it stretched the arms and squished the chest in. I tried taking the animation back to blender and weight painting it to fix the deformation but it wasn’t working. Eventually i just decided to make the walking animation myself the same as I did for the rat.
Walking Animation:
I found the first video I came across on YouTube for a walking reference and dragged it into my scene, this will be helping me animate the model.
I’m just using the video as reference for the basics, I’m going to be adding some personality to the fathers walk.
The fathers animation is all done I made this animation into an action since we are going to be having more animations for the father later on.
Idle Animation:
A really simple idle animation for the father.
Sitting & Standing Animation:
The animation isn’t very good but we decided to just go for it since the humans aren’t going to be seen too much. This is the sitting down animation.
Same as the sitting down animation, its not very good but we still went with it. This is the standing up animation.
Drinking Animation:
Since there will be cans of beer around the kitchen I thought it would be good for the father to have a drinking animation.
Pick Up Animation:
A pick up animation so that the father can interact with objects on the floor and possibly rat as well.
