Week 12: Hand In Week

This will be the last week before the deadline which is on Thursday. I carried on working on the customization feature.

Parker managed to fix the rotation of the cowboy hat by fixing the code.

I then added some temporary UI pictures for the customisation. I took out the pipe since we are running out of time and I would have to figure out a way to add the pipe onto another custom point which is how the hats are added.

I would also like to change the way the menu pops up since i feel like there are better ways of doing it. I was thinking of having a prompt pop up when you get close to the table and that opens up the menu. Also the way you get out the menu right now is a little broken since you need to open up the options to get out.

Gameplay

This is how the gameplay is looking like at the moment, its not finished and there are still a few bugs but this video is made to show the overall quest objectives and ideas behind the game.. We could of definitely done better scoping in the first half of the semester since we just didn’t keep track of time too well. We are planning on carrying on the development of this game over summer to create a good finished demo and releasing to the public on itch.io.

Team Work Analysis

I feel like I got placed in a good team, unfortunately one of our team members barely showed up or contributed at all but me and my other 3 team members seemed to do fine without them. We had mostly good communication with only a few accidents which included git hub commits, but we manged to work around that once we became more comfortable using git hub. Everyone did their team roles fine and we all managed to also help each other out in other fields outside our own personal roles. The only negative thing I can say we didn’t do too well is our scoping and planning for the game. We started with a good idea of the game with neat sprints every week, but as we got more into the development we started adding more and more features. We still have a good game on our hands its just that we might have some incomplete things for the hand in. As I have said above we are still planning on carrying on the development of this game during the summer its just the hand in that is a problem.
