‘It Never Rubs Off’ Guy Porat

Hello, my name is Guy Porat, and this is my Game Design Document. The purpose of this website is to showcase the development process and research behind my game ‘It Never Rubs Off’.

Game summary

The game is set in an alternate history where Nazi Germany have won the war, and the year is 1977 a dystopian country (inspired by WWII Poland combined with late 70s America) ruled by the Nazi regime. In the game you play as a man armed with a deadly vacuum cleaner named “Lazy”. You the player have to clean aftermath of Nazi atrocities and your own, as the protagonist is forced to confront his heritage when a disturbing conversation with a Nazi soldier reveals that his real last name, “Hamburg,” and you are tied to a family of Jews. Out of nowhere a mysterious Mafia faction task you with infiltrating Nazi headquarters with a psychotic being living in your vacuum cleaner called the “Activation Orb,” which is said to hold the power to topple the regime—but only if you are willing to kill everyone in your path and let the orb suck their bodies for meat. A dark humorous game and a unique perspective on resistance, this game blends macabre comedy with themes of identity, morality, and the cost of freedom. Would you dare to play as a hero to the minorities and a villain to the tyranny and how would your decisions affect the outcome of the story?
