Blade Runner portrays the rural areas with a dark, grey pallete. It evokes a sense of loss, loss of greenery and life. Specifically the white tree, leafless and lifeless is a great example of how I imagine the Otherworld to look like. It should not be exactly like this. The memory of previous life, previous greenery should be fleeting, fragmentary. The world should be overgrown or polluted with new life, toxic of alienesque for humans.

Blade Runner also makes a great visuals for the abandoned cities. The dark pallete with organe hues and mist/ash/sand/soot covering the skyline of once-great city is especially strong. I think that Otherworld could benefit from those pictures, using the towering structures, the empty shells of sprawling cities and great communities. It should create a similar emotion, solitude in a place designed to be full of people. Highlight the materials that would survive the slow degradation – metal, plastic with dull, faded colours. I would add darkness as often as possible, shades and mist that has overtaken the spaces once artifically iluminated.
