A very specific title and a very specific type of interface. For my game I would love to stray from science fiction aesthetics where technological advancement uses VR or AR or even quasi nanotechnological, granular interfaces such as seen in Apple’s Foundation TV series.

Small screens, the simplest font and reduced graphic interface (or non-existant), granular and distorted images, black and white coloration – it all makes me feel like is serves as the cheapest solution (even though it was developed as a way to portray the encopasing presence of the corporation, which on its own works in the setting).

IBM terminal 3270 – the original inspiration behind Alien MU/TH/ER computer interface.
In my setting I want to use this design of interfaces because it is a simplistic and bare use of technology – way of conserving the limited power and an indication that with all technological advancement the world has achived, the technology was taken with the rich part of the society up on the orbit, while the people left behind can only use the most sturdy of computers – satelite ones. It also reinforces the rigidity of the technology uses and the limitations it has – the survival depends on your, imperfect choices without the help of outside elements.
