Week Seven – Feedback

Posted on

During week seven we were requested to come in and discuss our game concepts so far with vanessa. In complete transparency i was unable to attend this meeting, meaning that i don’t have much to discuss in terms of feedback. But the following week I contacted some of my piers and requested feedback from them.

The general concusses was that I didn’t have much to go off of in terms of writing. I have an loose idea some thumbnails and the general gameplay mechanic but nothing to make the game stand out to others in the market in terms of mechanics. This is something I am going to consider and explore within my development. The narrative has not yet been written out so here is the basic narrative that i have so far.

Narrative

The beginning of the game starts with an old lady’s death and explores the myth of how some people see their ‘life flash before their eyes’. But i was wondering how this could happen to someone with dementia, would they still remember and have their life flash before their eyes? The narrative of the game follows this women as she goes back to her childhood, walking though as a spirit doing puzzles and interacting with people from her past to remember and to be able to move on. The subject of death is a very sensitive one and i intend to be considerate when exploring this narrative further.
