- What is a world?
A place. A world can be almost anything. Typically a place where people live with certain environmental and cultural theme factoring into it.
- What is a Gameworld?
A world that is showcased within a game. It can be completely fictional to something based more in reality but typically a fictional world.
What are important factors to think about?
When creating a Gameworld there are many things to consider. Fictional or based in reality you need to establish a believable, consistent environment and theme. Doing this not only helps to create an added layer of immersion for your Gameworld but also can help assist the narrative and goal if done correctly. It is an essential thing to consider when creating your game and GDD, because a good game without a believable and consistent Gameworld can fall flat and be uncanny for the player.
