Game concept

Flash before my eyes is a single player puzzle game inside a 2D storybook environment with themes of death and acceptance. It is a narrative story driven, choice based game where nothing matters. The ending is inevitable either way; yet the choices you make matter. Play as the 8 year old girl Annabelle who is actually an elderly woman trapped within the confines of her own mind battling an illness that stripped her of many treasured memories. Solve puzzles, explore, and interact with the environment to unlock these memories. Help her feel closure and normalcy in her final moments.

The core mechanics of this game revolve around the exploration, puzzles, and discovering forgotten moments within Annabelle’s past. You the player discover element’s of the characters past with Annabelle, inside the mind of an elderly woman with  Alzheimer’s disease.

Target Market

13+

Flash before my eyes is a game targeted towards young adults. Best suited towards the people who will have experienced the early 2000’s as a child; the same way in which they experience it in the game. The game has sensitive topics that may be hard to fully grasp for a younger audience yet it is still suitable for anyone aged 13+. The games nostalgic storybook visuals and simple choice-based playstyle perfect for all players with minimal game experience.

Platform:

The game is aimed towards casual players, therefore having it accessible on console is important. The game can be well suited towards most platforms with it being easily adapted onto a controller, keyboard and mouse. In the future depending on its success it could also relatively easily be translated onto a mobile device to expand to more of the casual player base.
