- Play test one, what needs to be changed?
The main takeaways from our first round of playtesting are pretty straightforward. We need to do a better job at introducing the players to the Gameworld, especially at the start of the game. Th early levels should be easier to navigate and be more intuitive so that newer players can better get used to the mechanics of our game without feeling lost or overwhelmed. Another issue was the camera sensitivity, which quite a few people found difficult to use in the game space, this is something we will have to adjust in the future. We got a lot of really useful feedback and i feel as though we have a much clearer idea of what could need improving moving forwards.
- Playtest two feedback
Overall the feedback from this week shows us that players responded positively to the core mechanics, art style and general world design of the game. However once again an issue that is mentioned is a lack of guidance in the beginning. Players reported feeling confused and uncertain about how to navigate the game itself. Considering this is a recurring issue this is something that we are going to have to prioritise, perhaps creating a tutorial or a guidance book for the player would be effective. Another common feedback was regarding the game’s camera, which many players found to be difficult to control and overly sensitive.
