Antagonist Design

When creating the antagonist for my game, I knew I wanted their face to be obstructed by some sort of clothing item. I went for a veil/cloak style for this and started with sketches. I developed this into a woman cloaked with a headpiece to signify their leadership role within the coven. I thought this initial design was too clunky, and boxy and had no real distinguishable silhouette therefore I decided to redesign it. The new design I went for had a sharper silhouette and new design features that give the scary vibe such as slick back hair, spiky shoulder clothing and a veil obstructing their face. I did try different colour variations as shown but after talking with peers we decided that the darker purple suited the character more.

I don’t think the coven leader’s name should be disclosed at all to keep a sense of mystery and opposition about herself but in the diary logs lying around the map, she will be referred to as Annabeth.
