Character Design & Guidelines
Protagonist

The protagonist is a solo witch, new to the world of covens. Growing up with weaker powers than others, they want to prove themself and be accepted into a coven.
The design for this character should have a fluffy vibe with a softer shape language. The colour palette has to be ambiguous to fit within either path the player would choose.
Antagonist

A powerful coven leader, Annabeth thirsts for power and will task her followers on paths to aid her rise.
A practitioner in the dark arts, her fingers are blackened from dark magic practice. Slicked-back hair and a headdress encapsulate her importance in the coven.
Her colour palette should always be darker values and should never be changed, she is an inherently evil character and has no redeeming qualities.
Mutated Creatures + Their Witch Counterparts
I aim for 5 different mutated creatures throughout Spirit Yonder with each residing in different areas of the world to keep them separated.

The game will begin and end in the graveyard area of the game world where the covens room resides. The black cat will live in the coven room and will be the last creature/witch you free or harvest.

The toad will live in the swamp area, the crow will be in the graveyard, the owl in the forest, the cat in the coven room and the frog in the lake. When the animal is mutated an aura effect will be around the creature to make it easily distinguishable.

This is the frog and its witch counterpart. Each witch should depict the vibes of their retrospective animal/creature in their design. For the frog, I aimed for a softer vibe with green prevalent throughout.
I didn’t draw out each witch but these are the aspects each should have within their design:
- Black Cat – shy, darker palette, soft like fur coat
- Owl – sophisticated, big eyes
- Toad – Brown palette, lumpy clothes, textured skin
- Crow – Black colour palette, slick outfit, pointy shoes, cape.
Menu Screen

I don’t think a settings screen is necessary but if the programmers seek to add one, the colour scheme should be purple hues with a simplistic layout.
